Meet The Team
Jennifer has over 27 years of experience in asset management, investment advisory and technology in HK with, among others CLSA, Fortis and Indosuez. A serial entrepreneur, she has launched, managed and sold an investment advisory firm and fund of hedge funds. She also lead an investment team in a number of successful internet startups for Chinadotcom from 1999-2000. In 2005, she was named one of the finalists for The HK Business Woman of the Year award and currently sits on numerous technology and investment company boards.
Jennifer is in charge of the management of the Innovation Fund and also on the investment committee selecting startups to be listed on the platform.
A qualified lawyer with a finance post-graduate degree, Emmanuelle previously worked on foreign investment transactions involving entrepreneurs and investors from all over Asia with a Chinese law firm. Her experience includes raising capital for investment immigration projects funded by high net worth Asian investors. Emmanuelle joins the Investable team putting her knowledge and passion towards making Hong Kong the new global startup hub for disruptive concepts.
Emmanuelle looks after relationships with professional investors to ensure satisfaction with the services offered on the platform and with the presented investment opportunities.
With over 10 years experience in digital development, Alex was the Head of Development and Technology at Fluid, an award winning insight driven creative agency in Hong Kong. Alex's expertise ranges from hands on coding to client management to project planning and management. He is now using all his knowledge in technology to contribute to the startups in Hong Kong and hopes to make Hong Kong the next and better Silicon Valley.
As CTO, Alex ensures that we integrate the latest technologies and data to our platform to ensure real-time information to our members. He is constantly improving the platform following feedbacks received from current members.
Jessica was first captivated by the start-up world through her exposure to the London scene, and joins NEST with the ambition of raising the profile of Hong Kong into becoming a major international start-up hub. Jessica was formerly part of the Digital and Media Marketing team at Jamie Oliver Ltd. in London, working closely with the team on their first product launch in China. Prior to Jamie Oliver Ltd., Jessica worked at Founders’ Forum in London, a company connecting high profile entrepreneurs globally, having previously hosted Richard Branson, Reid Hoffman, and a range of Silicon Valley veterans. At Founders’ Forum Jessica focused on launching and then growing their philanthropic arm, ‘Founders Forum for Good’, culminating in a 500-strong event in June 2013. Jessica joins NEST as a graduate of University College London.
Jessica looks after the initial stage of the due diligence executed on the startups applying to get listed on Investable.
Alyssa was previously an investment analyst at Conversus Capital, where she focused on evaluating private equity direct investments and secondaries. Prior to that, she was with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Chicago. Alyssa returns to Hong Kong to join Nest where she will be responsible for the due diligence process around new investments. She received a BS in Finance and International Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
Jamie was born in Shanghai and grew up in Hong Kong. She received her bachelor and post-graduate degrees in Marketing, Demography, and Professional Accounting in Sydney. After her studies, she worked in the property industry and was responsible for managing the rental aspects for luxury apartments in Sydney. Jamie is multilingual in four languages - Shanghainese, Mandarin, Cantonese and English. With this proficiency and her experience with the Chinese investors, Jamie will be working on Investable.vc and communicating with the investors in the china market across the Chinese social media platforms and networks.
Qiang Li is the managing partner the Shanghai office and a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Qiang has been practicing in Hong Kong and Shanghai since 1997. His practice covers mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment and corporate finance. He advises multinational and Chinese corporate and fund clients on their cross-border M&A and direct investment projects. He has been nominated as a leading lawyer in the 2013/14 Edition of the IFLR1000. He is also recommended by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific for his “high-calibre legal service” and “business experience”. At Investable, he provides insights on all legal aspects and is extremely supportive of the startup ecosystem within Asia.
Mr. Agarwal has over 17 years experience in the financial industry in Asia across firms including JP Morgan, Citigroup and Barclays. He brings extensive experience across research, trading, structured investments and invesetor client landscape across Asia.
Mr. Agarwal is based in Hong kong for last 12 years and has recently quit his job as Managing Director at Barclays Capital in Asia to purpose his personal ventures and manage investments.
Mr. Agarwal has a BE in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India
Stuart has an extensive background in international commodities trading, brokerage and structuring, having worked for a variety of companies in London, New York, Athens and Beijing. Stuart has significant experience in the carbon and energy markets, and has assisted and advised some of the largest CER buyers on their carbon acquisition programs. Stuart uses his strong understanding of project development, structuring and hedging to focus on the development of monetisation and asset maximisation strategies. Stuart is passionate about business ideas and is looking forward to bringing his expertise as an entrepreneur to advise founders.
Matthew is tasked with driving transformational disruptive market opportunities to capture the global market for the Internet of Things. Matthew’s charter is to focus on Market Development through the alignment of Innovation; Outcome-based Financing; Enterprise; Government and Educational Institute relationships. With this charter Matthew’s goal is to develop robust multi-hundred million dollar plus opportunities to enable business outcome solutions for both exisiting and new customers.Matthew joined Cisco in 2000 in the Finance organization. He has taken varied roles throughout his Cisco career, including leading Cisco’s Business Operations for the Middle East and Africa region and, based in Riyadh, heading sales and subsequently General Manager for Cisco’s Saudi Arabian business. Prior to his current role, Smith was based in Bangalore as the Strategy and Operations lead for Cisco’s Globalisation office.
Nigel specialises in technology, media and telecommunications projects throughout Asia but with a specific focus on Greater China. Nigel has advised some of the world's leading financial institutions, household name retailers and suppliers of electronics products, global telecommunications and leading media companies on major projects. Nigel's practice has been accorded first tier rankings for Technology and Telecoms by the Asia Pacific Legal 500 directory in both Hong Kong and China from 2006-2010. He is also ranked by Asia Pacific Legal 500, Chambers Asia and Chambers Global as a leading individual in Technology, Media and Telecommunications (Band 1), Information Technology (Band 1) and Telecommunications and Broadcasting (Band 2) in Hong Kong and China. Nigel is bringing his legal expertise to help TMT startups to scale and grow across Asia.
Jeanne has over 20 years of marketing experience in the high-technology industry. She championed the launch of many of Apple’s groundbreaking products in Asia Pacific, and was the regional marketing head for technology companies such as Dell, Cisco-Tandberg, and 3Com. Jeanne earned a Master of Business Administration from HKUST and a Bachelor of Arts from Berkeley. As a mentor for Investable, she helps startups with their marketing strategies and have a special interest for social ventures.
Dr. Dominic Chan founded Decisive Consulting Limited, a management consulting firm, and co-founded Dark Horse Investment that focuses on early stage technology investment. Worked as a consultant with the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, Dominic was also the former co-CEO of a-connect (China), a professional consulting staffing firm and China general manager of Englishtown.com (an EF Group company) providing online language training service. As a serial entrepreneur, he has been involved in technology companies in the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) application, integrated communication, mobile device applications, e-commerce solution and e-learning areas. He is also an Honorary Project Director - Center for Entrepreneurship, Adjunct Assistant Professor – Department of Management, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
Allen is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunication sector across the APAC/ Greater China region. In 2010, he launched V-cube China, partnering with the global V-Cube group. V-Cube is an all-in-one business communication solution company with cloud service for TV and Web conferencing and following its success, the V-Cube group went IPO on TSE on December 10th, 2013. V-Cube China achieved a sales revenue growth of over 1000% since 2011. Passionate about entrepreneurship and new ventures, Allen brings its expertise to help companies on Investable with China market entry within the TMT industry.
